It was another boring day in the life of Noelle Carlyle. Yet again, she found herself with nothing to do, and yet again, she was ending up in the park, watching as little children enjoyed the summer like conditions, playing in the sand boxes, swinging on the swingsets. She watched as young couples came and went, some with young children, others looking pregnant, and even some who were just so in love, it kind of sickened Noelle. She watched as pouty faced teenagers seemed to be babysitting. At this rate, Noelle had spent many hours at the park, people watching, waiting for inspiration to strike for her to write a song or perhaps just play a new arrangement on Callisto, the guitar that she'd had since she was just over nine years old. But nothing ever seemed to catch her eye that much. So she kept coming back to the park, to just watch and wait. And she did. She watched the people, watched the animals, watched the park in general. And she most definitely waited. She waited for inspiration to strike. She waited for something to catch her eye. She waited for something unusual, something different in this town.
And here Noelle was, at the park again. Except today was slightly different, believe it or not. The shy, almost unnoiticeable girl had brought her guitar to the park with her. Maybe her luck would turn around today, and maybe, just maybe, she might see something and she might be able to come up with a new song. It was a long shot, but who knew. It was possible. So, Noelle sat down under the comfortable and bearable shade of a large oak tree, somewhat awkwardly, since she didn't know how people were going to act to a random sixteen year old plucking on guitar strings, making music, of what could be considered unvaluable noise to some, depending on personal preference. Since it was warm out, Noelle had ventured out of her usual long jeans and tee shirt. She'd actually put on a pair of shorts, and a tank top. It had been a long time since she'd worn shorts, to be honest. She never really wore them that much, because she just so happened to be that self concious about the way that she looked. It was stupid, but Noelle never really sat down to dwell on it. After all, she'd much rather be attempting music. Some said Noelle was a great artist, but those people were rare, since Noelle hardly ever let ANYONE hear her. So her going out in public, with her guitar, was kind of... A shock, to say the least. So, as the girl leaned back against the Oak tree, she closed her eyes and let her fingers do the talking, as the begain to make sounds with the guitar, and Noelle became one with her surroundings, or at least for the moment being.

It was not just another day in life of Gabriella Summers. In fact today was a huge day in her life, a turning point even. Today was the day that she was returning to Ocean Springs after a two year absence. After her break-up with her ex-fiance and son's father, Gaby needed to start over and the only way she could do that was to leave, with the intentions of never coming back. Her kids, who were three years and eight months at the time of the split, had yet to be affected by the frank decisions that were made and so Gaby wanted to remove them from that situation before they would have time to process it. That's exactly what she did. Within a few weeks, she sold her house and packed up her kids and just...left. She didn't know where she was going and she didn't know how she was going to get by from day to day, all she knew was that she HAD to leave Ocean Springs.
About two days after she left Ocean Springs, she moved herself and her kids back in with her parents. When Gaby had first announced she was pregnant, her parents basically had disowned her, but now in her hour of need they were there for her again, few questions asked. As tough and cruel as they were to her before, they had been supportive these past two years, more or less for their grandchildren's sake rather than her own. Still, it was nice to have someone there, someone to help her raise her children and show her some techniques she would have otherwise never even thought of. Some was the keyword. After a while her parents became too critical, too controlling! Just like her ex Justin, she had to remove herself and her children from the situation. With nowhere else to go, Gaby moved back into her old house, in Ocean Springs!
Today was her first day back. Instead of unpacking boxes and fussing over missing furniture, she decided to de-stress, and spend her day with her children at the park. The twins--McKenzie and McKayla were five years old now, and their brother, Collin, was a fussy two year old. Gaby sat down on a white, cold bench as she watched her children play...the twins were on a teeter totter, and Collin was sitting happily in a sandbox with a pail and a small bucket. Attached to Gaby's shoulder was an overly filled diaper bag full of "what if" cases, and a small dog sat her feet. When McKenzie left her sister to play with their dog, she unlatched Gypsy's (the dog) leash, encouraging Gypsy to run around wildly, knocking a few small kids down on the way, including little Collin. This caused Collin to let out an ear screeching scream, sending chills up Gaby's spine as she hurried to his side, embarrassment plastered all over this young mothers face.

Noelle plucked tenderly and caringly at her guitar's strings, as if it were her child. She was trying to go unnoticed as long as possible, and if no one noticed her the entire time in which she was at the park, that was perfectly fine with her. In fact, Noelle would have much rather preferred that than people staring her with the 'why is there a weird girl sitting under a tree, playing guitar for no real reason?' looks that people were known to get, not that she'd know or anything. Her mind off in la la land, Noelle continued to pluck blindly at the strings, not really playing anything in particular. She let her fingers do the talking, and her mind drifted off, even farther into the deep blue oceans of Noelleland. In some of the farthest corners of her mind, she wondered what her guitar would say if it could actually speak real word. Probably nothing important, but a person could never really know. After all, there was only so much a person could know, and some things were inexplainable.
Humming a few bars of a random melody, Noelle watched as a gorgeous young mother took a seat on a white bench not too far away from where Noelle herself was perched under the oak tree. Noelle watched as this woman watched whom Noelle presumed were the woman's children play on the various things at the park. If only Noelle had paid more attention in her photography class that she had taken a couple of summers before. She was certain that someone could easily snap a few photos of the woman and her children, looking model-esque, despite the fact that there was something on each of their faces, ranging from simply happy to deep thinking. Noelle couldn't help but wonder what was going through each of the minds around her. Snapping out of her reverie, Noelle pursed her lips and realized that she had stopped playing blindly with Callisto, her guitar. Placing her fingers on the D string, Noelle let her dark brown hair curtain her face as she began to play again, losing her focus on the people around her.
Noelle stopped playing as soon as she realized that there was slight chaos going on around her. A dog had been let off its leash, and was now running around, sniffing and greeting strangers happily. Noelle watched, helpless, as the dog knocked over a small child, causing the child to start to scream, loudly. Wincing slightly at the pain in her ears, Noelle wondered if she should get up and try to help the young mother that she had watched for a few moments earlier. These thoughts were knocked out of her mind when the dog ran up to Noelle and somehow knocked the guitar out of her arms, and Noelle ended up on the ground, with the dog licking her face. Making a face at the fact that she was being covered with dog saliva, Noelle mentally cursed herself for being so attractive to animals. "Get... off...!" Noelle muttered to the dog, as she still lay on the ground, helpless as she attempted to shove the dog off of her.

Embarrassment did not even begin to explain how Gaby was feeling right now. Gypsy had freed himself from his leash, ran wildly around the playground greeting strangers and knocking them over, and now injured little Collin who let out a loud scream in reaction to the impact on his body knocked to the ground. Since her son had notified the whole park that their dog injured him, Gaby could not even pretend like the wild mutt did not belonged to her. She hurried over to Collin's side before he could scream loudly again and scooped him up into her arms. She began hushing him with a quiet lullaby and kept repeating the words "You'll be OK, there's no blood", to him in a soothing tone. The word "blood" did not soothe Collin, he was still too young to understand that he was indeed going to be just fine. He began kicking to be freed so that he could seek revenge on the dog, but his attempt was left in vain. When he began kicking, Gaby just held him tighter and tried to bribe him with cookies if he could trust her in saying that he was OK. Although Gaby was not a fan of bribing children, she couldn't deny that it didn't work. At the word "cookies", Collin calmed down, so Gaby carried him over to his stroller and handed him a baby cookie.
Just as it seemed that everything was under control, Gaby spotted Gypsy on top of a girl, who he had pinned down, helpless on the ground. Without thinking twice, Gaby placed Collin in his stroller, instructed her daughters to keep an eye on their brother, and ran over to the girls side. Gaby's face went bright red, "Oh my I am SO sorry, I don't know what has gotten into him...GYPSY, GO LAY DOWN!" she instructed the pooch as she hit the dog's behind, "BAD DOG! GO.LAY.DOWN!" she warned in a harsh tone. Thankfully, Gypsy obeyed and ran over to the stroller, where he then tried to steal Collin's cookie. Gaby could not deal with that right now. She would go and put the leash back on Gypsy as soon as she knew that the girl Gypsy had "attacked" was alright, "Can I help you up?" Gaby said meekly, despair in her tone. She hoped that the girl wouldn't press chargers, "I really am sorry. Gypsy is usually much better behaved but you see we just moved here and so he's held a lot of pent up energy inside from the long car ride...and really I am just really so sorry..."she began ranting, unable to make her lips stop moving, "My name is Gabriella and don't worry, the child who was knocked down and who I was just calming down IS my son, Collin...I know it's hard to believe because I'm so young, but I'm actually a mother of three...the two twin girls over there by the stroller are my daughters, McKenzie and McKayla..." she finished, trying to make amends with the girl, "Is there anything I can do for you? You aren't going to press chargers, are you miss?" she asked with embarrassed and frightened eyes.
As usual Gaby was imagining and preparing for the worst case scenario, what if this girl was allergic to dogs? What if Gypsy had bitten her when I wasn't looking, what if...?, the worry was driving Gaby insane. As she waited for the girl's response she quickly glanced over at her children, at least they seemed to all be calmed down, at the moment.
