CHAPTER ONE

The Temperature is Dropping[/size]

Hello. My name is Lexx Thomas Apples. I have a sister named May and two parents of course. My life started like everyone else's sugar coated with nothing to care about. But when the hard reality of life hits you in the head, it seems like there isn't a meaning anymore.

My family and I lived in California, Los Angles. We loved it there, the sun and beach was nice. My sister is two years younger than I and it never really hit me for a long while that she never was allowed outside. During recess at school, field trips, and many other things. She constantly when to the salon with our mom, her eyes never even came to thought.

I realized these things around the age of ten. My mother told me she was just different like that. By eleven I found out the true reason, she had albinism. I also found that it was in genetics and wondered why /I/ didn't have it. Mother wouldn't tell me.

Have you ever asked a question which you actually didn't want to know the answer was? Curiosity killed the cat, right? Well, to me, curiosity didn't kill the cat. It just ran it over and left it in agony. I was thirteen when I found out that I was adopted. I had no relation to May, my sister, neither my mother. But my father was my true father. What had happened was that I was my father's son but he disowned me and left me at an orphanage. But by the time I was two I was adopted by my mother, Rochelle. My father, Thomas came looking for me and then married my mom.

Silly how things worked out...I don't even know my real mother. Dad never told me. He refused. He always said that Rochelle was my mother. May never found out, my parents and I made sure of it. We just told her that my genetics were just a little off so I didn't get albinism. She bought it of course. May is smart enough to know when not to ask a question. It kind of feels cold when you know that your father disowned you and that your mother isn't really your mother and that you only have a half-sister.[/center]
