What a relief it was to be back home in Ocean Springs after such a long, heart breaking journey. You see, after Justin broke the engagement, Gabriella was lost and knew she could not stay in this town anymore. Too many 'bad luck' instances occurred here and so she left and set out to find herself. For the past x number of months, she has been moving herself and her kids from town to town, fearing that if she stayed in one place, Justin would find her. She obviously didn't want Justin to find her, but her reason behind it was not so obvious. Try as she might, Gaby still loved Justin. She knew that if she ever ran into him again, she'd become jello and lose herself again. When it takes so many months to cool down and try to re-shape your life, you don't exactly want to cave on anything, so from now Gaby had to act as if she was never engaged to that man, he never existed. None of the other towns fit Gaby as good as this one and she also knew that he would never think to look back in the town where he met her. Besides, Ocean Springs was her home, the one place where she finally felt like she fit in. From the moment she moved here, she had made many good friends. So after calculating the consequences, she moved back.
All these thoughts plus more scurried through her brain as she packed boxes and boxes of diapers and pull ups into her shopping cart. She still couldn't believe how big McKenzie and McKayla were getting, so big now that they out grew diapers and were steadily using pull ups. Pretty soon they'd be going to pre-school, and soon after they'd start kindergarten. Where did the years go? Seems like just yesterday that she was telling Justin about how she was....No! Gaby could not let herself speak his name, it hurt far too much. What could Gaby do? She felt so guilty keeping her kids from their father, or actually in this case she was keeping her son from his father and his daughters from their 'adopted father' since they belong to a different man. An unknown man....
As Gaby's thoughts continued to consume her, McKenzie and McKayla played with their little brother, Collin. Usually around this time of day he'd be napping, but since Gaby hasn't been staying on a specific schedule, he wasn't either. Now he'd sleep and wake up at the oddest times....this was driving Gaby nuts, but the twins enjoyed having more time to bond with their little brother.
Once Gaby got her filling of diapers and pull ups, she moved on to the baby bottle and pacifier isle. She noticed a starry blue pacifier on sale, and just as she went to reach it, she knocked down a pyramid of bottles, "Crap." she thought to herself as she bent down to clean the mess before she'd attract too much attention.
