Jackie, who was a very smart baby, knew exactly watch she was talking about. He dropped the bead, and held out his chubby hands, wanting the apple juice. He couldn't really hold the bottle yet, but Nika would hold it for him. "I guess that means yes," Nika told Gabby. With her free hand, the one not holding Jackie, she got another slice of pizza and poured more ketchup on it.

Gaby handed Nika a napkin, figuring that ketchup pizza could be messy. "I'll take that a yes." she teased Jackie. As she was about to pour some apple juice into a bottle for Jackie she realized she didn't have a bottle for Jackie. She turned to Nika, "Do you have a bottle I can use for Jackie so I can give him some juice?" she asked her as McKenzie walked over to her with an empty bottle. "Okay, a little bit more." she told McKenzie as she took her bottle and filled it half way full, fully knowing McKayla would soon be doing the same.
McKayla meanwhile desperatly tried to finish her bottle so she could be like her sister and get a refill as well. "Would you like more my darling?" she asked McKayla, bringing the juice pitcher over to her. McKayla nodded and handed Gaby her bottle and Gaby filled hers to the same point. She giggled as she walked back to Nika, "They always want the same thing. If one twin has something, the other girl must have it as well. It's nuts. Hopefully they outgrow this before they can drive." she kidded, placing the pitcher back down on the counter.

Nika laughed as she searched around in her bag, bringing out an empty bottle. She handed it to Gabby. "Yeah, imagine the two of them wanting ferrari's for their sevententh birthday," she joked. Nika grabbed a scrunchy and put her long hair back into a half hazard like bun at the back of her head, keeping it out of her face and the ketchup on her pizza. "Are we going to start bowling soon? I suck at it though. I always manage to hit something with the ball."

Gaby smiled at Jackie as she poured him his juice bottle. She was smiling at the way his face lit up as he watched her fill his empty bottle with the sugar-free gerber apple juice, a favorite of most kids. "Here you go." she said as she handed him his bottle, forgetting that Nika would have to feed him. She forgot because now Gaby didn't have to feed the twins, so for a few months she would have toddlers who could feed themselves, but in about four or so months, she'd be nursing a newborn again. She'd be back to step one, caring for a newborn, but at least she was experienced this time, that was the advantage this baby would have. "Bowling? Yeah, we should start soon. That's what were here for afterall. " she kidded, still wondering where Nathalie went. "We'll have to start without her." she remarked as she took small bites out of her second slice.

Nika giggled at the look on Jackie's face. He wanted the apple juice, desperatly. He was looking at it as if he wanted it to telkeneticly fly to him. He stared at it. "Ummm, Gabby, I need that," she said, pointing to the bottle, half laughing.

Gaby blushed softly, "Oh yea, you can't feed yourself can ya bud?" she hypothetically asked him as she took the bottle back from him and handed it to Nika. "Sorry about that, I haven't had to feed the twins in months so I forgot that Jackie still needed to be hand fed." she explained, thinking about her newborn. "So, when did you say you were getting your ultra sound?" she asked, remembering fuzzily that she had mention the topic earlier. "Mines in two weeks." she informed her as she closed the pizza box and lidded the soda's, one last refil to her and Nika's cups before doing so. "Okay, let's bowl!" she said as she took out her bowling ball bag and revealed her sparkly black bowling ball with her name engraved in it in metallic silver subscript.

Nika giggled as she fed Jackie the apple juice. She had just finished her pizza. "Mine's in two weeks to," she told her friend, "Maybe we have it at the same place," she mused. Jackie finished the bottle with a small yawn. He was tired. She patted his back for a few moments, and than placed him down in the carrier to go to sleep. Than she got up, picking out a ball, "I don't have one of my own," she told Gabby.

"Thats fine, I wouldn't have had my own, Justin bought me this one. When we first dated I stretched the truth a bit to make me seem more intresting. Okay so I stretched the truth a lot. I told him I was a pro bowler and so for Christmas he bought me this ball. That's when I finally clarified to him that I had lied to make me more intresting and he laughed. Ever since I've loved his way of understanding. He spent two hundred dollars on this ball and he wasn't upset to learn that I wasn't a pro bowler. But now I take this ball with me everytime I bowl, it's my good luck charm." she explained, smiling at the thought of her beau. Their marriage was just two short months away, perfect. "I'm getting my ultrasound done at the hospital here, I didn't like the clinics so I asked for the hospital. I was glad to learn they had a small untra sound system there, in the upper most stairs." she explained. "So are you going to a clinic?" she asked, gently polishing her ball, just enough to remove the dust from the bowling bag.
She looked over at the twins, cheese on their shirts and sauce on their faces and hands. She grabbed some wet wipes from her purse and wiped them off. "Hark, they have faces under all that sauce!" she teased as she cleaned their faces. "And pretty faces at that." she continued. "Should I go first? Or do you want to?" she asked Nika. "Doesn't matter to me." she remarked honestly.

Nika shook her head, "You can go first. And I'm not going to a clinic either, Matt detests them. He insisted on me getting it done at the hospital. He barely lets me walk on my own anymore, he is so worried something is going to happen to me or the baby. I swear he wasn't like this with the first two, okay, maybe Jackie," she told Gabby. Said baby Jackie was asleep in the carrier now, his fist pressed against his mouth.

Gaby looked into the carrier at the sleeping Jackie. She remembered how much the twins had used to sleep, falling asleep in the morning through dinner time, waking up for scheduled feedings and then going back to sleep until early morning, waking Gaby up at 2am or earlier. That was no fun, but at least it made Gaby feel important. Now that they were becoming toddlers, sleeping at regular times, from seven pm to six or seven am about everyday, so much has changed. Pretty soon they'd be dressing themselves, and becoming totally independent. This scared Gaby. She settled down a bit as she thought about the new baby, the newborn who would need all her help. So she'd feel responsible and important again. It was nice to be needed, and lately Gaby has been feeling less and less needed. Partly because she hasn't seen Justin in a while, and partly because her twins were growing up so quickly.
"Okay Nika, I'll go first then." she said as she stepped up to the floor. She straightened her arm out and guesstimated where the strike zone would be. She stepped back and threw the ball down the lane and knocked over 4 pins. "Not bad." she told herself as she waited for her ball to come back up the chute so she could go for a spare. A minute later she stepped back up, positioned herself, and picked up a spare. "I'll take it." she remarked as she walked back over to the table. "Okay Nika, your up!" she told her, placing the twins on her lap.

Nika giggled, Gabby got a spare. She would never been that good. She got up, smoothing her babies hair back from his face and picked up a ball. "Okay, hope I don't hit someone." She threw the ball in the lane, and it went straight into the gutter. "darnit," she muttered, but thought at least she didn't give someone an injury. She tried again with the next ball and managed to knock down only two pins.

"Oh that's some bad luck there, better luck next time." she told Nika politely, not in a rude way at all. I know sometimes people say that when they know they are beating someone and winning is everthing to them. That's who we call 'sore winners.' That's not where Gaby was going at all, she meant it sincerely. She didn't care who won, it was just a game, didn't count for anything. Just two friends and their kids out having fun bowling at the bowling alley, nothing worth get competitive over.
Gaby picked up her ball and stepped onto the floor again. This time she knocked over three pins the first time and only two the second time. "Not all throws can be winners." she told herself and Nika, hoping Nika did better this time. "Good luck." she told her as Nika's turn arose again.

NIka giggled, she knew Gabby was trying to make her feel better, "Don't worry Gabby, I always lose this game, doesn't bother me. I suck at it, usually my throwing results in bodily injuries. I just hope that doesn't happen," she said. She threw the two balls, managed not to hit anyone, and get seven pins down.

Gaby giggled, "Losers win sometimes." she replied, trying to stay positive. Gaby was a positive type of person, negativeness didn't register with her. After seeing her knock down seven pins she smiled, "See, your not so bad." she remarked, stepping back up to the 'plate'. "Body injuies? Like broken fingers, toes, stuff like that?" she asked curious of the subject. She threw her next ball and it hit seven pins, then the next one gave her another spare. "Lovin the spares." she kidded, avoiding jinxing herself. She sat back down and put the twins both back on her lap. "me pway" McKayla shouted. Gaby tapped her own forehead, "Oh yea, I brought the toddler safe, play bowling set. Let me set it up." she told everyone as she pulled the set out from her purse. It was resourceful how small such a big bowling mat could fold up to fit in her purse. She set their pins up, handed them the light, plastic ball and told them to have fun. "But be quiet so you don't wake the baby." she warned them.

Nika smiled softly at Gabby's warning to the twins, appreciating it. "Yeah," she told her, "Once I broke my sister Mina's leg." She picked up the ball, and to her immense surprise, managed to get a strike. Her mouth opened in shock, "Holy sh...".
