"The human hazelnut. That has a nice ring," Reese commented. "I take it you and your brother aren't really that close?" Reese asked, with a smile. He ran his hand through his very sweaty hair. At least his mom's coffee would'nt get cold.

"Eh due to circumstances he and I are less than the best of friends." Colby nodded. She stuck her hands in her pockets thinking about it. It was because of her that they weren't close, oh and they being gone three fourths of the year, but whatever. She looked up at the houses making a face. "Which one's yours?" she asked.

Reese gestured to a large white one. "That one. Which is your?" He asked, as they neared his front walk. He could hear his neighbor's chihuahua barking as they passed his neighbor's house. Stupid dog, he thought.

Colby pointed down the street "Further that way." She looked at her watch. She was going to be late even if she ran, but she honestly didn't care. Her mother wouldn't do much, lest it upset poor baby Colby. Colby rolled her eyes at the though and smiled at Reese "Kind of wish it was further though. I hate dinner parties.. get togethers, whatever my mom's calling them now."

"Ugh, I have to get ready for a 'dinner party' too. What a coincidence." Reese commented. "See you sometime?" He asked as he started up his front walkway. His mom was no doubt mad because he was late, but at least she now had her coffee.

"See you later." Colby waved and hurried down to her house, opening the door just in time to hear, "Colby Laura Lynn Winslet!" oh this was going to be fun. She headed for the dining room, where, no doubt, her mother was nitpicking at everything the housekeeper did to make the room look good.

Reese unlocked the front door to his house, and walked into the kitchen. He gave his mom her coffee and waited for the yelling. "Reese, get ready. We leavin in ten for the dinner party." His mom said, surprisingly,not angry. He wondered who he would have to fake smile at for the next hour.

After about five minutes of 'When I give you a curfew' which was useless as it wasn't a curfew, she didn't have one of those. She finally got to go to her room to shower and change into a blue mini dress. She was drying her hair when her mother called her name and Connor's meaning either the person was there or would be quite soon. She finished her hair and slid her feet into blue flats before walking out of her room with a sigh. Time to fake like she really wanted to be there.

Reese stood akwardly in the foyer of the new peoples' house. His mother was talking to another woman. Suddenly, he saw Colby. He smiled at her. Maybe this dinner thing wasn't going to be so terrible after all...

Colby was trying to work out a way to get out of this as she walked down the stair, putting on her fake smile, but freezing when she saw Reese. She felt Connor bump her and heard him mutter, "Watch where you stop princess." using her father's nickname for her as an insult almost. She glared after him and followed the rest of the way down. She smiled at Reese, placing her hands on her hips. "Guess i wasn't kidding when I said see you later."

Reese laughed. "I didn;t know we's see eachother this soon," He said jokingly. "Do our parents know eachother or something? I bet they were 'college friends'." Reese said, motioning to their happily chatting parents.

Colby shrugged, looking over at them. "Possibly, I don't ask about those year, mom likes to pretend she was always sober and actually got in due to her acedemics." It was kind of a duh that the only reason Lola Winslet got into college was the library renovations grandpere paid for. She looked up when she heard a sound and watched as her father walked down. Kade Winslet was a very scary looking man, but colby knew he was actually a big teddy bear.

"I will never ask my parents about their college years. Far too weird." Reese said, with a shudder. He most certainly did not wan tot think abou what his parents were doing back then. He suddenly noticed how cold it was in the room, and slightly shivered. He wasn't used to it being so cold.

"Let's go to the front parlor for h'or devores(sp?)." Lola suggested Colby thought about it before looking back at her dad. "Daddy, can Connor, Reese and I go to the basement?" The basement was actually just like a media room, there was a theater, with eight seats, a weight room, pool table, air hockey, bar and multiple TVs. It was one of the best rooms in the house.
